FIRST CLASS (STANDARD) MAILING

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE STANDARD MAILING SERVICE?

Our standard mailing service includes addressing, stuffing, sealing, stamping, and hand-delivering your invitations to our local post office. We ensure everything meets USPS mailing requirements and is ready for processing.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE POSTAGE?

We calculate postage based on the size, weight, and mailing class of your suite. Each invitation is weighed and verified with a postal worker before we apply the appropriate stamps. Current postage rates can be found on the USPS website. Most of our completed suites will be 2oz or more. And don't forget the return postage if you are doing a mailed RSVP card!

If your suite is non-machinable—for example, square, rigid, or lumpy—it will require an additional USPS non-machinable surcharge in addition to standard postage. You can read more about non-machinable mail on the USPS website.

Hand-canceling is available upon request for an additional charge based on USPS rates at the time of mailing. While it helps prevent your invitations from running through automatic processing machines, it is not guaranteed by USPS and may vary by location. DO YOU PROVIDE TRACKING FOR MAILED INVITATIONS?

No, standard First-Class mail does not include tracking through USPS. If tracking is important to you, we recommend upgrading to our Tracked Mailing service for added peace of mind.

WHAT HAPPENS IF AN INVITATION GETS LOST IN THE MAIL?

Once invitations are handed off to USPS, we are not responsible for lost or delayed mail. To avoid stress, we recommend ordering 5–10% extra invitations and considering our tracked mailing upgrade.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MAIL GETS RETURNED TO ME?

Returned invitations are typically due to incorrect or undeliverable addresses, or guest relocation. If mail is returned, it is the client’s responsibility to retrieve and resend it. Jameson Hill Designs is not responsible for re-mailing or covering additional postage.

CAN YOU CONFIRM WHEN INVITATIONS ARE MAILED?

Yes! You’ll receive confirmation once your invitations are dropped off at the post office. If you've ordered extra invitations to be shipped to you, we’ll also provide a tracking number for that package.

HOW LONG DOES USPS MAILING USUALLY TAKE?

Delivery times vary by location and USPS processing speed. Most guests receive their invitations within 2–3 weeks, but we’ve seen delivery extend to 4–5 weeks in some cases due to weather or regional delays.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT TO THIS OPTION?

Having the invitations shipped directly to you gives you full control over final distribution. It can reduce transit wear and shorten delivery times to guests, especially if they live nearby.

WHAT SHIPPING OPTIONS DO I HAVE?

We ship all orders via UPS Ground with insurance coverage up to $3,000. This ensures your invitations are fully protected during transit. The average cost for shipping and insurance is $65 and will be included in your final invoice. Once your package ships, we’ll share a tracking link so you can follow its progress from our studio to your doorstep.

WHEN WILL YOU SHIP THE PACKAGE AND HOW LONG UNTIL I RECEIVE IT?

Your package will ship on the mail date outlined in your project timeline. UPS typically delivers within 3–7 business days. If you’d like to request expedited shipping, let us know in advance and we’ll add the cost to your invoice.

CAN I REQUEST A SIGNATURE UPON DELIVERY?

Yes! If you’d like the added security of a signature confirmation, just let us know before your order ships and we’ll include that option.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Yes, we do! International shipping rates and delivery timelines vary depending on destination and carrier. Customs processing can add additional time. If this is the right option for you, we’ll provide a custom quote before finalizing.

TRACKED MAILING SERVICE

WHAT IS TRACKED MAILING?

Each invitation suite is placed inside a protective mailer. A shipping label is affixed to the outer mailer using our return address for tracking purposes—but we can personalize the name line (e.g., Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Smith, c/o Jameson Hill Designs).

Inside the mailer, your invitation envelope will be unsealed to prevent tearing, either blank or with the guest’s name printed on the front—no stamps are used. Guests simply open the mailer and remove the pristine invitation envelope inside.

HOW IS THE PROCESS DIFFERENT FROM REGULAR USPS MAILING?

Unlike traditional mailing, your invitations are not exposed to USPS sorting machines. They are handled more gently and shipped as parcels rather than letters. This method keeps your invitations clean, unbent, and free from postal marks or barcode scans.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

This service is $6 per suite and includes full assembly, preparation of the labeled mailers, status updates, and complimentary re-sending for any mail that’s returned to us.

HOW DO I TRACK MY INVITATIONS?

You’ll receive a status update five days after mailing that shows how many invitations have been delivered and how many are still in transit. If needed, we can also provide a spreadsheet with tracking numbers matched to guest names and addresses.
